Medium: Acrylic Ink and graphite on raw canvas, matte varnished for UV protection, mounted with archival matte gel medium on raw stretched canvas panel.

*Unaffixed folds may be gently manipulated. You may use a hand-vacuum on the gentlest lowest setting with the brush attachment and gently go over the folds to lift any dust particles from the surface.

My father was a cartographer in his Army days and he taught me about the importance of topographical maps. I loved feeling like a bird flying above the earth looking down at the beauty of nature as I looked upon these documents. Now, I celebrate the majesty of Mother Nature with vivid acrylic inks on folded raw canvas.
Sculptural Abstract Landscape Paintings
I celebrate the majesty of Mother Nature with vivid colors and marks inspired by the great outdoors. Inspired by topographic maps, I fold and manipulate raw canvas into mountains, valleys, lakes, and rivers as if seen as a flying bird. The canvas is dyed using acrylic inks, acrylic paint, and pencil. As visual inspiration, I refer to my numerous travels to Acadia National Park, Maine and Portland, Maine where I grew up. I am always so moved by the numerous colorful eco-systems on display; from the seaside tide pools to the fresh water springs, lakes, and lush forests.
