Bird Paintings
The exclusive bird collection represents un-caged women embracing their inner strength, sparkle, and authenticity. The crown symbols represent the fact we are all sacred and perfectly made…no matter what we were told or how we may feel. There is life after abuse, oppression and neglect...we are all rare birds finding our colors.

Meet Missy (and her kids!) She is one of those kickass wonders who can do it all. She can lay a wood floor, cook 3 meals, raise 3 kids, mow the lawn, throw in the laundry, and build a bonfire outside before bed..all in one day! The thing about her is she loves her family and her friends and lends a helping hand at every turn. When she’s not making it all happen she enjoys a fun cocktail, doing makeup, fun outings with friends, trips to the coast, and snuggles with her kids.

ARTIST STATEMENT
“The Uncaged” is a collection of original contemporary abstract paintings featuring realistic bird renderings to illustrate the concept of the “un-caging” of women. They may be oppressed or abused for part of their lives; later to break free to go on and flourish— to be their authentic selves. They are full of personality and color…truly unique. I think about how women couldn’t even have their own lines of credit until the mid-seventies...I realize so many must have felt trapped as they stuffed themselves into a figurative box to please a spouse or others. These works are a tribute to those powerful inner spirits and personalities that won’t be caged again!
